A Call to the Autism Community:

Autism affects 1 in 150 people in America.  We all know the dedication and work it takes to raise and care for these individuals with Autism that we love so dearly.

There are so many misconceptions about Autism.  We want to tell the rest of the community:
-We look like everyone else, but we may have behavioral issues
-We are extremely smart and shine a new light on all we see
-We are numerous and struggling
-We need services now

Please help us bring a striking visual awareness to the rest of our community, the media and the government .

Event Details:

Unfortunately, Sea of Autism is rescheduled for next summer-2009.  We ran out of time planning our 1st/2nd grade addition to our school and we unable to plan this event.  We will be having it this next summer.  Stay tuned for details.

Sea of Autism will become Oregon's largest Autism Awareness Movement.  It will bring striking visual picture to the rest of our community that is not affected by autism.

The Sea of Autism will feature 25-40 tables sponsored by companies.  At many tables, parents will receive free educational materials, product information, sensory products and toys! 

Admission to this event will be free.

Crucial Elements:

T-Shirts must be worn in the correct colors with the correct sayings for the visual effect we are trying to create. 

All Individuals with Autism:
Yellow with "I have Autism" AND "I am ___ years old"

All People who take care of individuals with Autism:
Red with "I care for someone with Autism"

All People who want to support the movement who KNOW someone with Autism:
Royal Blue with "I know someone with Autism"

All shirts ordered from School of Autism will benefit our School Expansion Program.  They will feature all of the sponsors of the event, the correct colors and sayings and it will make you a crucial part of the Sea of Autism statement.
